Caring for your hearing health

Hearing issues: Hearing loss, tinnitus, and deafness.

· Head and neck cancers: Laryngeal cancer, pharyngeal cancer, and thyroid cancer.
¿How is an ENT exam performed?
A complete ENT (ear, nose, and throat) examination typically includes:
· Otoscopy: An otoscope is used to examine the ear canal and eardrum.
Rhinoscopy: A rhinoscope is used to examine the nose and sinuses.
· Laryngoscopy: A laryngoscope is used to examine the larynx and vocal cords.
· Neck examination: The neck is palpated to check for enlarged lymph nodes or other abnormalities.
¿How often should I get an ENT exam?
The frequency of ENT exams depends on your age and your risk of developing ear, nose, and throat problems. In general, healthy adults should get an ENT exam every two years.
People at higher risk of developing ENT issues, such as those with a family history of ENT diseases or exposure to loud noises, may need more frequent exams.
